Plans and Limits
Understand how Outercite plans differ, where to check your current usage, and how agencies access a separate billing model.
Outercite plans differ mainly by the number of keywords you can track and by which features are available to your workspace. You can check your current plan and live usage at any time from your billing settings.
What you'll learn
- What varies between plans (keywords, features, checks)
- How to view your current plan and usage in-app
- Where agencies find their separate billing model
What differs between plans
Plans are not all identical. The main dimensions that vary are:
- Tracked keyword volume. Each plan allows a different number of active keywords. When you approach your limit, Outercite shows a usage indicator in billing settings.
- Feature access. Some features (such as scheduled reports, advanced competitor tracking, or API access) are available on higher plans only.
- Verification checks. Outercite runs checks across six AI engines: ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI, Grok, and DeepSeek. The rate at which checks run may vary by plan.
Outercite does not publish hard limits or prices in this article because they may vary by region and are updated from time to time. Your in-app billing screen always shows the current, accurate figures for your account.
How to see your current plan and usage
- Log in and go to Settings in the sidebar.
- Select Billing.
- The billing screen shows your active plan, your current keyword usage versus your plan limit, and your next renewal date.
If you are close to a keyword limit, the screen flags this with a usage bar. You do not need to take any action unless you want to add more keywords than your current plan allows.
Agencies: a separate billing model
Agencies manage multiple client workspaces and have a different pricing structure, including wholesale tiers. If you are running an agency account, the relevant details are in the agency billing model article rather than here.
Not sure whether your account is an organisation or an agency? Check the top of your sidebar. Organisation accounts show a single workspace; agency accounts show a client list and an Agencies menu.
Keyword limits and what counts
A "tracked keyword" is any prompt or question you have added to Outercite for ongoing monitoring. Paused keywords do not usually count toward your active limit (check your billing screen to confirm for your plan).
Drafts and suggestions that have not been activated are not counted.
When you hit a limit
If you reach your plan's keyword limit:
- You can still view all existing citation data.
- You cannot add new keywords until you remove existing ones or upgrade your plan.
- Outercite will show a warning before you hit the limit, not only when you have already exceeded it.
