Shortcuts and navigation
The Shortcuts palette, the two top-bar menus, and the four keyboard chords that make the assistant fast.
There are three ways to reach anything: ask for it, press ⌘K, or use the top bar. They all land on the
same instrument, so use whichever is closest to hand.

Shortcuts: ⌘K
The palette is called Shortcuts, never after its keystroke. Open it with ⌘K (Control and K works too)
and filter with "Search pages and prompts, or ask anything". It has three groups, always in this order:
- Ask. Questions that work on your workspace, including the counted ones from the start screen and live follow-ups from the current thread.
- Prompts. Your own tracked prompts, to jump straight to one.
- Commands. Four of them:
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
| Open the share view | Shows how the number in front of you was made |
| Start a new thread | Clears the conversation and starts again |
| Show or hide the evidence panel | Same as ⌘\ |
| Switch to light or dark mode | Appearance |
Each command is labelled by what pressing it will do, not by the state it is in, so the panel row reads "Hide the evidence panel" while the panel is open.
The top bar
Two menus, and the split is the point: one is what you monitor, the other is what it means.
Track: what you monitor
| Row | Where it goes |
|---|---|
| Prompts | The prompts you track, by topic |
| Competitors | The rivals being named instead of you |
| Changes | The Change ledger, as a panel |
| Shopping | Product visibility, in beta |
Analyse: what it means
| Row | Where it goes |
|---|---|
| Intelligence | The merged intelligence surface and its lenses |
| Trace | AI referrals: the visits that arrived from an AI answer |
| Reports | Exports and scheduled reporting |
Rows that have a panel open it beside your conversation rather than navigating away. The same rows, opened from anywhere else in the app, load the full page.
The chords
| Keys | What it does |
|---|---|
⌘K | Open Shortcuts |
⌘↵ | Send the question in the composer |
⌘\ | Hide or show the evidence panel |
@ | Mention one of your prompts, competitors or engines |
Escape | Close whatever is open |
Try this in Outercite
Press ⌘K in the assistant and type a few letters of one of your prompts. The Prompts group
filters as you type, and selecting one takes you straight to it.

Panes and the ladder
Every lens in the platform descends the same three steps: the landscape you scan, the subject you focus, and the proof behind that subject.
